Our Community

The University of Toronto is committed to fostering, strengthening, and enriching new and existing initiatives that will allow our Indigenous students and future students to reach their full potential. We are hard at work implementing every recommendation and call to action that our Truth and Reconciliation Commission Steering recently issued.

Browse this site for an overview of resources, services, clubs, and events that our tri-campus communities of Indigenous staff, faculty, and students have hosted and nurtured over the years. And to learn more about the University’s commitment to truth and reconciliation, don’t forget to check out our Indigenous Gateway.

Knowledge Keepers & Faculty

Elders embody a living memory of the past, a perspective on the present, and a guiding vision toward the future. They are a vital presence at the University of Toronto and we encourage students to engage and grow in connection with them. Indigenous staff and faculty provide valuable teachings to students and the wider community. Learn more about our Knowledge Keepers & Faculty.

Indigenous Student Initiatives and Services

Student-run clubs and organizations are an important part of the university experience for most University of Toronto students, and our Indigenous students are among our most dynamic leaders. Our students enjoy film appreciation clubs, debating societies, sports teams, activist groups, and fitness classes.
